What is Trofolastín Periareolar Scar Reducer?

Trofolastín Periareolar Scar Reducer is a dressing for the treatment of Hypertrophic Scars and Keloids.

These Scar Reducing dressings are made up of two layers :

• The external surface is a microporous polyurethane membrane .
• The interior is an adherent acrylic film to facilitate its attachment to the skin.

Periareolar Scar Reducer Trofolastín has been specially designed for application on scars produced as a result of plastic or reconstructive breast surgery , such as augmentation mammoplasties .

Trofolastin Periareolar Scar Reducer is indicated for the reduction of recent or old hypertrophic scars or periareolar keloids due to general or reconstructive surgery .

These Trofolastin dressings help prevent the formation of hypertrophic scars and protect scars from solar radiation.

How to apply Trofolastín Periareolar Scar Reducer?

1. Wash your hands before using the dressing.
2. Carefully clean and dry the scar area , checking that the skin is completely dry and without traces of cream, ointment or oil to facilitate the application of the Periareolar Scar Reducer Trofolastín dressing .
3. Open the sachet and gently separate the protective layers of the circular dressing. Place the dressing over the periareolar scar evenly , making sure that no folds form and that all edges are fixed to the skin. If it is necessary to cut the dressing to size before applying it, the protective layer should not be separated before cutting and it should be ensured that it is of sufficient size to adhere to the healthy skin surrounding the scar.
4. Once placed, the Trofolastín Periareolar Scar Reducer dressing can remain fixed on the skin surface for up to 7 days depending on the type of scar. The dressing is waterproof if it is applied without creasing and all edges are secured to the surrounding healthy skin. The dressing is for single use. If the dressing begins to peel off, replace it with a new Periareolar Scar Reducer Trofolastin dressing .
5. To remove the dressing, gently lift one corner and carefully pull and lift the edges of the dressing until it separates from the skin.
