With its use, health personnel and infected patients (or suspected of being so) can spread the infection and transmit infectious agents.

Made with at least 3 layers of soft polypropylene or cellulose , they are low resistance to allow easy and comfortable breathing. Its high breathability is complemented by elastic bands and an adjustable nose clip to ensure that particles that could transmit any virus do not enter or leave. Instructions for Use of Surgical Mask

It is as important as that the mask is of good quality and is duly certified by health organizations, that it is used properly, since poor use of surgical masks ruins all its effectiveness, also generating the false sensation of being in a protected environment. when really, due to negligence in its use, you are not.

It is important to keep the skin dry before using the mask and avoid touching the inside with your hands. To place it properly, the first thing is to adjust the elastic band around your ears until you are in a comfortable position. Next, adjust the external face of the mask to the structure of the face until it is correctly deployed and seals all possible breathing exit spaces. Finish by adjusting the nose clip with both hands until it is firmly attached to the nose, which will allow adequate support and the mask will not fall when you move or speak. In case of contact with liquids, breakage or breathing problems, change the mask immediately.

It is recommended that adults supervise the placement, use and removal of the mask in children.

European Regulations for Surgical Masks

Their labeling must include a reference to the UNE standard, which is the regulation validated by the Spanish state health authorities to manufacture them:

In addition, purchased masks must also contain, on their labeling, instructions or elsewhere, the following information: the manufacturer of the product, the name of the masks, their size and measurements, whether it is reusable or not, instructions for use, a list specifying the materials with which they are made and information on their maintenance, as well as the number and washing method if it is reusable.

IIR masks, what are they?
