The origin of the O'Keeffe's company dates back more than 20 years to the arid region on the California-Oregon border known as the Klamath Basin. Bill O'Keeffe was a rancher with diabetes who liked hard physical work.

But that harsh lifestyle took its toll on his hands and feet. Seeing the discomfort caused by chronic dry skin , her daughter, Tara, was forced to find a solution. With her knowledge as a pharmacist, Tara and her father spent several years creating and testing different formulas in the kitchen, until much later she found a product that worked better than the rest.

This was the basic formula for what became O'Keeffe's Working Hands and, several years later, O'Keeffe's for Healthy Feet , O'Keeffe's Lip Repair and O'Keeffe's Skin Repair.
