DAOfood Plus 60 Capsules is a food for special medical uses that is used as an aid for the dietary management of DAO Deficiency and/or Histamine Intolerance and its associated pathologies.

The Diamine Oxidase (DAO) it contains complements the body's own enzyme , which is responsible for metabolizing histamine.

Taking one capsule before each meal increases the amount of DAO in the small intestine and, therefore, the ability to break down histamine . In this way, the processing in the digestive tract of the histamine present in food, which is what triggers the symptoms, is accelerated.

They are gastro-resistant tablets with controlled release DAO in the intestine that prevent the acidic pH of the stomach and tablets that guarantee the immediate release of adjuvant active ingredients.

Each capsule:

• 2 white/beige gastro-resistant tablets with intestinal release DAO.
• 1 orange immediate-release tablet of vitamin C.
• 1 yellow immediate-release tablet of quercetin.

Warning:

If you cannot take quercetin or vitamin C, you can open the capsule and remove the yellow and/or orange tablet.

What is DAO deficiency and what effects does it cause?

This is a deficiency in the activity of the metabolizing enzyme DiAminoOxidase (DAO) or when there is an unbalanced proportion between histamine ingested with food and the ability to metabolize it by said enzyme.

As a consequence, histamine is not sufficiently metabolized or degraded , passing into the bloodstream and triggering a series of symptoms.

The usual reactions when there is DAO deficiency are migraine and other headaches , but others may occur such as:

• Digestive discomfort such as a feeling of bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhea.
• Muscular and osteopathic discomfort and contractures.

How to take DAOfood Plus 60 Capsules

1. You can take 1 capsule with a little water 20 minutes before main meals (3 times a day).
2. You have to swallow it whole, but if you can't, open it and take the tablets inside separately, without chewing, breaking or breaking.
