In infants with disabling development, it could increase the risk of "infantile spasms" (disorder of massive myoclonic attacks) and it is better not to give it as well as drugs from the triptan family (antimigraines such as sumatriptan).
It should not be given together with tramadol or with antidepressant medications such as MAO inhibitors, tricyclics or SSRIs.
It should also not be given with carbidopa, used in Parkinson's, as it could cause changes in the skin.
It should be given at lower doses in people with severe liver and kidney disease, peptic ulcers or platelet disorders.
