What is Cinfamucol Carbocysteine?
Carbocysteine, the active ingredient in this medicine, belongs to the group of medicines called mucolytics, which act by decreasing the viscosity of mucus, thinning it and facilitating its elimination.
It is indicated to facilitate the elimination of excess mucus and phlegm, in colds and flu for adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.
How to take cinfamucol carbocisteine?
The recommended dosage is:
- Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over: 15 ml of oral solution every 8 hours, which means a maximum daily dose of 45 ml of oral solution (2.25 g of carbocisteine). Do not take more than 2.25 g per day, divided into 3 doses.
Once you see improvement, you can reduce to 1.5 g in 24 hours divided into 2 doses. - Use in children Children under 12 years of age cannot take this medicine.
How to take: This medicine is taken orally. Measure the amount of medicine you need to take with the measuring cup contained in the package.
It is preferable to take the medicine before meals.
It is recommended to drink a glass of water after each dose and plenty of fluids throughout the day.
