This eye drop combines 0.2% hyaluronic acid and 2% ectoine .

Hyaluronic Acid is of high molecular weight and provides high and long-lasting lubrication on the ocular surface, while Ectoin allows water molecules to be captured, increasing the viscosity and residence time of the formulation. The synergy between the two molecules provides intense hydration on the ocular surface.

Hylo Intense has a texture with greater viscosity and residence time in the eye, which allows the ocular surface to be hydrated with fewer instillations per day.

Main composition of Hylo Intense Lubricating Eye Drops for Dry Eyes

• Hyaluronic Acid : Ensures optimal moisturizing . It is a mucopolysaccharide present in the eyes. Thanks to its special characteristics, it can bind to various water molecules present in tears.
  Hyaluronic acid molecules are differentiated based on the length of the associated chain. Molecules with long chains or high molecular weight retain a greater number of water molecules . At the same concentration of hyaluronic acid, the one with the highest molecular weight is the one that provides the most viscosity . In addition, it has a greater hydration capacity and a longer residence time on the ocular surface.
• Ectoin : is a natural substance obtained from microorganisms that live in extreme environments. These microorganisms synthesize a molecule called ectoine to protect themselves from extreme environmental conditions.
  Ectoine increases the binding of water to the cells of the ocular surface, and forms a physiological barrier in the conjunctiva that prevents the entry of potentially allergenic substances . At the same time, ectoine stabilizes the lipid layer of the tear film, and protects against excessive tear evaporation.
• Preservative-free : Preservatives are chemical substances used to ensure the sterility of the product during its use. Preservatives are products capable of destroying or inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, and despite their use at very low concentrations, they present cellular toxicity. Sometimes, they damage the cells of the ocular surface, causing instability in the tear film, and reducing the tear breakup time. Application mode
