What is Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution?

Idroflog is an ophthalmic solution indicated for use in dry eyes .

Idroflog is an ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties , is distributed evenly over the ocular surface forming a viscoelastic protective layer . In this way, by exerting a mechanical action ("barrier effect") , Idroflog stabilizes the tear film, reduces the friction caused by eye movements and blinking , and protects the ocular surface , favoring repair processes, as a consequence of alterations in the corneal epithelial cells due to hyposecretion of the tear film.

It protects the corneal surface from exposure to external aggressions and, thanks to the auxiliary action of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate (low-concentration corticosteroid agent), contributes to controlling subclinical inflammation in dry eye.

In fact, in cases in which the glands involved in the secretion of the tear film reduce, due to various factors, their normal activity, the corneal surface is more exposed to external aggressions. Over time, these attacks cause dysfunctions of the corneal epithelial cells with the associated risk of annoying inflammatory processes appearing.

The application of Idroflog allows you to protect the corneal surface from exposure to external aggressions.

Thanks to its particular saline composition, Idroflog restores and maintains at physiological levels the concentrations of important ions, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, essential for the physiological conditions of the ocular surface.

Does not contain preservatives.

What is Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution indicated for?

Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution is indicated:

• In cases of known hypersensitivity to any of its components or to other chemically related substances.
• Simultaneously with viral infections of the ocular surface , keratitis ulcers, mycoses of the eye, purulent conjunctivitis , purulent and herpetic blepharitis, or stye .
• In general, it is contraindicated in case of pregnancy, during lactation and in children.

Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution instructions for use

1. Separate a single dose from the strip.
2. Remove the tip of the single-dose by twisting it.
3. Apply 1-2 drops to the conjunctival sac, letting them fall from above.
4. Idroflog is compatible with contact lenses.
