What is Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution?

Idroflog is an ophthalmic solution indicated for use in dry eyes .

Idroflog is an ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties , is evenly distributed over the ocular surface, forming a viscoelastic protective layer . By exerting a mechanical action ("barrier effect") , Idroflog stabilizes the tear film, reduces friction caused by eye movements and blinking , and protects the ocular surface , promoting repair processes, as a result of alterations in the cells of the corneal epithelium due to hyposecretion of the tear film.

It protects the corneal surface from exposure to external aggressions and, thanks to the auxiliary action of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate (a low-concentration corticosteroid agent), helps control subclinical inflammation in dry eye.

In fact, when the glands involved in tear film secretion reduce their normal activity due to various factors, the corneal surface becomes more exposed to external aggression. Over time, these aggressions cause corneal epithelial cell dysfunction, with the associated risk of developing troublesome inflammatory processes.

The application of Idroflog protects the corneal surface from exposure to external aggressions.

Thanks to its unique saline composition, Idroflog restores and maintains physiological levels of important ions, such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, which are essential for the physiological conditions of the ocular surface.

What is Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution indicated for?

Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution is indicated:

• In cases of known hypersensitivity to any of its components or to other chemically related substances.
• Simultaneously with viral infections of the ocular surface , keratitis ulcers, eye mycosis, purulent conjunctivitis , purulent and herpetic blepharitis, or stye .
• In general, it is contraindicated in case of pregnancy, during breastfeeding and in children.

Idroflog Ophthalmic Solution instructions for use

Apply 1-2 drops in the eye to be treated, 2-4 times a day, for 2-6 months (consult your ophthalmologist).
