In the case of healthy boys and girls from 3 years of age and without contact with a virus, the Ministry of Consumption recommends hygienic masks in sizes appropriate to their age, up to 12 years of age. Acquiring masks of the correct size is tremendously important, since if they are excessively large and are baggy, they cease to make sense as they cannot effectively fulfill their function. It is important that the mask fits properly to the face and that it does not allow our breath, exhalation and aerosols to escape, since if we are infected with a virus, we would simply be modifying the viral dispersal trajectory. For this reason, it is recommended that adults always supervise the placement, use and removal of the mask in children, paying special attention that it fits well on their face and that it does not come down easily.

How do you put on a mask?

  1. Avoid touching the inside of the mask.
  2. Adjust the elastic band around the ears until they are in a comfortable position.
  3. Adjust the outer face of the mask to the structure of the face until it is well unfolded and sealed.
  4. Adjust the nose clip with both hands until it is snug against the nose.

Use in Boys and Girls

Boys and girls under 3 years of age do not need to wear masks, but from that age, it is recommended that they use children's hygienic masks according to each age and size range. This is especially important because the masks must be perfectly adjusted and fixed to the face, to avoid the dispersion of particles that could favor contagion. There are three sizes, according to each age range, between 3 and 12 years. In addition, at Farma2Go we have a huge variety of colors and designs to encourage you to wear them with more spirit.

It is important to remember that, for its use , there must always be an adult present supervising the placement, use and removal of masks. Misuse of masks can cause counterproductive effects, favoring infections by spreading viruses through the hands and objects that children have touched, also providing a false sense of security.

In particular, boys and girls who are positive for any infectious disease and are susceptible to infecting their environment, with symptoms or asymptomatic, should preferably use children's surgical masks, hygienic with UNE specification for children, or others with greater filtering protection. Particles, such as FFP2, FFP3 or KN95 (all of them duly approved and in compliance with the requirements set by the international health authorities and, especially, those of the European Union).

Always Choose Approved Masks

It is convenient that our sons and daughters always wear approved children's masks, to guarantee their effectiveness in bacterial filtration. The Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) recalls that it is important that this approval is reflected in the certification of their labeling, indicating the standard to which they conform. Thus, we can find:

-The UNE 0065 certification in reusable masks guarantees at least 90% bacterial filtration efficiency.

-The UNE 0064 certification in disposable masks indicates that they have greater bacterial filtration efficiency: at least 95%.

-The masks that, even having submitted to other specifications, have not passed the UNE standard, authorized for sale but without certainty of their effectiveness.

It is important to look at the label of the masks to protect the little ones in the most appropriate way, avoiding not only that they become infected, but also that they spread and disseminate viruses and pathogens improperly, putting the health of third parties at risk. For this reason, we must always look at the certification of the masks we buy, since not even all the masks sold in pharmacies have this certification.

At Farma2Go we care about your health and that of the people around you , which is why we sell a wide variety of approved children's masks so that your children can go to school and carry out their daily activities duly protected.

Sizes and Measurements of Children's Masks

It is very important, to guarantee adequate protection , that the masks for boys and girls are of the appropriate sizes, to prevent the spread of viruses and infectious agents due to the folds and gaps that may remain between the face and a mask that is too large.

-Children between the ages of 3 and 5 should wear the small size, which usually measures around 5.5cm x 13cm. As they are indicated for younger children and, therefore, more likely to touch the mask and loosen it, it is important to ensure that the elastic bands are properly positioned in the ears, and the nose clip fits the nose.

-Children from 6 to 9 years old should use the medium size, 6.5cm x 15cm. Significantly larger, it perfectly covers the parts of the face from which particles are exhaled and projected (mouth and nose, mainly).

-Between the ages of 9 and 12 (from that age, depending on the degree of growth of the child, it is best to already use adult masks), it is recommended that children wear large-size children's masks, which are usually around measures 8.5cm x 17cm.
