La propyphénazone est un analgésique et antipyrétique, elle agit en diminuant la synthèse des prostaglandines en inhibant la cyclooxygénase.
Le mécanisme d'action antipyrétique est central, produisant une thermolyse accrue, une vasodilatation cutanée et une transpiration.
La caféine est un stimulant du SNC.
